UWOLC Disaster Response Page for Winter Storm Fern
United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County has created this page to provide information on disaster response activities associated with Winter Storm Fern. In addition, please visit our Facebook page as we regularly share disaster-related posts via that platform as well.
NOTE: While we try to keep information updated and current, that is a nearly impossible task given the widespread community activities taking place in response to Winter Storm Fern along with the number of entities serving our community in a multitude of ways. So, please be mindful that relief and recovery activities will likely continually change as well as evolve in the coming days and weeks, and we will do our best to keep items included on this page up to date to the extent possible.
With that being said, we have a single staff member. So, please bear that in mind as our organization seeks to provide residents with worthwhile information from reputable, trustworthy sources that will be beneficial as our community continues to respond in the aftermath of a historic disaster that has affected so many. We will focus on longer-term items rather short-term offerings for the purposes of this page in order to hopefully help minimize the inclusion of out-of-date and inaccurate information, and please be sure to stay informed by visiting the social media pages and websites of the local entities included above as each will be valuable and viable sources.

Please remember that many local agencies’ operations, programming, etc. have been adversely affected, and the resources available to address the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community’s growing needs were already limited and struggling to keep pace with heightened demand for support as well as services before the devastating impacts of Winter Storm Fern. So, while an entity offers assistance in a particular area, that does not mean they have the ability to help everyone who contacts them as no one has unlimited resources.
